Why Sancta Maria
Sancta Maria is not just a school but a community. It not only offers teaching in academic subjects but fosters all round development and excellence of students to ensure that they grow up into balanced and responsible adults. There are many reasons why Sancta Maria should be the preferred school for your child.
An International Curriculum: Sancta Maria is based on the globally recognized Cambridge Curriculum, developed according to rigorous international standards. It fosters all-round development for excellence in life. The Cambridge Curriculum is based upon deep, research-based, educational insights into learning needs of children.
Flexible Curriculum Choices: The Cambridge Curriculum offers over 70 subjects (including 30 languages), internationally, to cater to the diverse educational needs of students from different countries. Schools affiliated to the Cambridge Curriculum can offer a selection of these subjects in combination. Sancta Maria’s Cambridge Curriculum is supported by excellent resources and training.
Flexibility in Course Structure: The flexible and stimulating Cambridge Curriculum ensures that students can make choices according to their aptitude and abilities. The curriculum offers a variety of learning pathways to ensure this flexibility. For Senior School, students have the option of either the Core or Extended Curriculum based on their aptitude and are graded, assessed and certified accordingly.
Flexible Lesson Plans: At Sancta Maria, teachers have the freedom to develop their own innovative lesson plans and resources for teaching various disciplines and chart the course based on the learning needs of their students. They are trained by Cambridge International Examinations and through internal workshops in creating lesson plans and resources for teaching.
Cambridge Assessments with Feedback: Students taking the Cambridge Curriculum are assessed by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) for their assignments and tests. These tests are held at the same time for students from across the world and this allows for global benchmarking of student performance. The assessment comes with detailed feedback on improvement areas and recommended learning pathway for each student.
Highly Qualified Faculty: Sancta Maria places a great deal of emphasis on the quality of teachers it selects and ensures that they are well-grounded not just in the fundamentals of teaching but also as advisers to the students. We recruit the best teachers and train them in the Cambridge pedagogy, teaching methods and leadership.
Ideal Teacher-Student Ratio: Sancta Maria has a class size of 25 students per class. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10. Students get personalized teacher attention to ensure that their unique learning needs are addressed and there is a strong individual rapport between the teacher and students.
Friendly Faculty-Student Relationships: At Sancta Maria, we believe that the relationship of teachers and staff with students should be based on trust. Our students can approach the faculty with their queries and suggestions, rather than assume a purely passive role. This allows us to listen to the students and incorporate their feedback in school improvement.
Activity-Based Learning: At Sancta Maria, we train students through a range of project activities so that they grasp concepts by applying them in practice. Every subject is taught innovatively with a strong emphasis on demonstration of concepts and hands-on application in creative contexts like competitions, quizzes and workshops.
Wide Range of Extra-Curricular Activities: Sancta Maria International School provides students with opportunities to pursue a range of interests outside and beyond the curriculum.
