Learning to Learn | Unlock Engagement
July was a month of active participation and meaningful learning at Sancta Maria International School. Across classrooms, sporting arenas, literary celebrations, leadership opportunities, and career conversations, our learners explored new ideas, embraced responsibility, and strengthened the skills that prepare them for life beyond school. From young leaders taking their oath of office to alumni returning with inspiring stories, every experience encouraged learners to think independently, collaborate with purpose, and grow with confidence. Together, these moments reflect our belief that learning is most meaningful when learners are actively engaged.
Dear Parents,
July has been a lovely month of seeing our children step up, step out of their comfort zones and discover more of what they are capable of.
I have particularly enjoyed seeing them take on responsibilities, engage with our alumni, think about their own futures, express themselves through LIT SANCTUM, and simply enjoy learning with one another.
For me, these are the moments that matter. A child finding their voice, taking responsibility, trying something new or discovering a strength they did not know they had is what growth looks like.
My vision for our learners is simple. I want them to grow into confident, curious and compassionate young people who know themselves, understand their strengths and have the courage to shape their own future. Academic excellence is important, but so is the person we help each child become.
Thank you for trusting us and for being such an important part of this journey. Together, we give our children the confidence to grow, the values to guide them and the courage to reach further.

Learning Review Report | A Message from Head of Academics
As we begin another exciting academic year, we are reminded that meaningful learning is not defined by how much we teach, but by how deeply our students learn, think, and grow. At Sancta Maria International School, our commitment to continuous improvement remains at the heart of everything we do.
This year, our Learning Improvement Plan (LIP) focuses on three priorities:
Throughout the year, we will gradually unpack each of these goals and share examples of how they are being brought to life in classrooms, student experiences, and parent engagement opportunities. We look forward to learning together and celebrating the progress our students make along the way.
At Sancta Maria, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. It is shaped by meaningful experiences, strong partnerships, and opportunities that empower every learner to discover their potential. We thank our students, parents, and educators for their continued support as we embark on another year of growth and learning.
Our learners brought the Pythagorean Theorem to life through engaging presentations that explored its concept, significance, and real-world applications. They went beyond the formula to understand the mathematics behind it and how it connects to everyday life. Adding a creative twist to the experience, learners also performed a lively skit inspired by the theorem, combining mathematics with humour, teamwork, and confident communication.
July Theme: Learning to Learn & Engagement
July provided our learners with opportunities to lead, communicate, compete, and collaborate, developing the life competencies that prepare them for success beyond academics.
Throughout the month of July, our focus was on the Life Competencies of Learning to Learn and Engagement. Across every division—from Early Years to High School—students explored these competencies through meaningful learning experiences that encouraged curiosity, active participation, reflection, and ownership of their learning.
Our youngest learners demonstrated engagement through inquiry, play-based exploration, and collaborative activities. Primary students showcased their thinking through projects, presentations, goal setting, and reflective conversations. Middle and High School students strengthened these competencies by participating in classroom discussions, interdisciplinary learning, leadership opportunities, clubs, sports, SMISMUN, ILOS programmes, and community initiatives, where they applied their learning in authentic contexts.
These experiences highlighted that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge—it is about developing the mindset, confidence, and skills to become lifelong learners. We are proud of the many ways our students embraced this month's focus and look forward to continuing to nurture future-ready learners through our Life Competencies Framework.
Leadership begins with responsibility. Our newly elected Student Council and House Leaders officially took their oath of office during the Investiture Ceremony, committing themselves to lead with integrity, service, and collaboration.
Language empowers learners to think, express, and connect. LIT SANCTUM 2026 celebrated reading, writing, storytelling, and public speaking through debates, creative writing, performances, and literary showcases.
Our Grade 7 and Grade 8 Boys' Football Team secured Second Place, demonstrating outstanding teamwork, discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
As role models for the school community, they now begin a journey of inspiring others while upholding the values of Sancta Maria International School.
The event provided students with opportunities to strengthen their communication skills while expressing creativity and confidence. Congratulations to every participant for making this celebration of language and learning truly memorable.
Their commitment and determination reflected the values developed both on and off the field. We congratulate the team on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to many more successes ahead.
From Classrooms to Careers | Alumni Meet & Career Day
Career Day and Alumni Meet 2026 brought together students, alumni, university representatives, and industry experts for a day of inspiring conversations and meaningful learning. Through interactive sessions and destination-based alumni discussions, learners explored a wide range of career pathways, gained valuable insights into higher education, and heard first-hand experiences of studying in India and abroad.
More than an event, it was an opportunity for students to ask questions, broaden their perspectives, and make informed decisions about their future. It reflects Sancta Maria's commitment to preparing every learner with the confidence, guidance, and support needed for life beyond school.
Beyond Borders: Global Learning, Lasting Impact
The ISP ILOS Programs at Sancta Maria International School have begun with great enthusiasm, providing learners across all sections with opportunities to showcase their talents and connect with the global ISP community.
The ISP Artists Junior Preliminary Round for EY3 to Grade 5 celebrated creativity and artistic expression, while the ISP Chess Masters Preliminary Round brought together learners from Primary, Middle, and High School to demonstrate strategic thinking and sportsmanship.
To celebrate learner achievements, division-wise Recognition Ceremonies were also held, honouring students for their outstanding accomplishments in the ISP ILOS Programs during the 2025–26 academic year. We congratulate all participants and wish them continued success in the upcoming rounds.
July has been an exciting month of innovation, collaboration, and meaningful learning at Sancta Maria International School. As we continue to champion Screen Value over Screen Time, our focus remains on using technology with purpose—to enhance learning, build life competencies, and empower every learner.
This month marked the successful rollout of Komodo Wellbeing for our Grade 5–9 learners. The response has been extremely encouraging, with many learners already completing the wellbeing survey. Even at this early stage, we are delighted to share an impressive 79% overall wellbeing score, providing valuable insights into how our learners are feeling and where we can offer additional support. Over the coming weeks, we will use the data to strengthen our wellbeing initiatives and ensure every learner feels seen, heard, and supported.
Looking Ahead
The coming month promises even more exciting opportunities. We will continue expanding the use of Komodo Wellbeing, analyse learner insights to guide wellbeing interventions, strengthen AI integration through targeted teacher support, and further embed technology that develops creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital responsibility. As always, our goal is to ensure that every innovation translates into meaningful impact for our learners. Together, we continue to build a learning community where technology is not just used; it is used with purpose, empowering every learner to thrive today and in the future.
Learning Together
Building our code of conduct together
On 27 July, we brought together teachers, parents and carers, and learners for a focus group discussion on our school's code of conduct and positive behaviour framework. The goal was simple: to hear directly from everyone who is part of our community and understand what is working well, what needs to change, and how we can support positive behaviour across the school.
Learning becomes even more meaningful when families share their expertise. Our Primary learners participated in engaging parent-led sessions on Money Matters and Smart Choices, where they explored practical concepts such as balancing saving, spending, and giving, and understanding the difference between needs and wants.
On 27 July, we brought together teachers, parents and carers, and learners for a focus group discussion on our school's code of conduct and positive behaviour framework. The goal was simple: to hear directly from everyone who is part of our community and understand what is working well, what needs to change, and how we can support positive behaviour across the school. The conversation covered a wide range of topics, from recognising and rewarding positive behaviour, to setting clear non negotiables around safety and respect, to agreeing shared expectations. What stood out most was the shared commitment in the room to getting this right, together. This is just the beginning.
Over the coming weeks, we will be taking these ideas forward with a small, focused pilot so we can test what works before rolling it out school wide. We are committed to keeping this process transparent and clear, and we will continue to update the community as it develops. Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their voice.
