Celebrating the People Who Inspire Every Learning Journey
Every Tomorrow Begins in a Teacher's Heart A Teacher's Legacy Our teachers plant seeds of hope, nurture confidence, and inspire children to believe in themselves. Long after report cards are forgotten and classrooms are left behind, the kindness, encouragement, and belief of our teachers continue to live on in the lives they have touched. The Sancta Maria Teacher At Sancta Maria, our teachers are the heart of our community. Our teachers do far more than teach; they listen, encourage, guide, and inspire. Through their dedication and care, our values of Fairness, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Happiness, and Value Creation come alive every day. Our teachers see potential where others may see uncertainty. They celebrate every child, stand beside them through challenges, and help them grow into confident, compassionate, and capable young people. Every achievement we celebrate has a teacher behind it. A teacher who believed, encouraged, and never gave up. To our incredible teachers, thank you for the difference you make every day. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and because of you, every tomorrow begins with hope.Warm regards Hema Sanjay
At Sancta Maria, teachers do much more than teach lessons. They encourage questions, build confidence, nurture curiosity and help learners see possibilities beyond the classroom. This Teachers’ Day, our school community came together to celebrate the educators who guide, support and inspire our learners every day. A teacher's influence often stays with a learner long after a lesson ends. This month, we celebrated the people who make those moments possible.
Academic excellence is about more than results. It is about developing learners who are curious, reflective, responsible and willing to challenge themselves. As learners prepared for their mid-term assessments, classrooms focused on purposeful revision, goal setting, independent practice and effective study strategies. Ongoing feedback and personalised support helped learners strengthen their understanding and build habits for long-term success. Our Primary and Middle School Recognition Ceremonies also celebrated learners for their achievements, dedication and perseverance. Every achievement begins with the willingness to keep learning.
Grade 10 families came together for “Beyond IGCSE: Discover the AS & A Level Advantage”, a panel discussion focused on the transition from IGCSE to Cambridge AS & A Levels. School leadership, an Ivy League admissions consultant, a private coaching expert and a medical professional shared perspectives on subject choices, academic preparation, university admissions and opportunities beyond IGCSE. The session helped families make informed decisions about the next stage of their academic journey.
September provided learners with many opportunities to strengthen the Big 5 Life Competencies through learning and everyday experiences. As mid-term assessments approached, learners demonstrated: Self-Leadership through planning and goal setting, Responsibility through preparation and organisation, Resilience through challenges and setbacks, Critical Thinking through reflection and problem-solving, Communication & Collaboration through classroom and community experiences
Teachers’ Day, Grandparents’ Day, sports activities and other school experiences also encouraged learners to connect, contribute and grow together. Our Grades 9–12 learners continued their International Award for Young People (IAYP) journey, developing independence, resilience and responsibility beyond the classroom.
Future Pathways continued to connect learners with universities, careers and possibilities beyond school. Faculty members from the University of Leeds conducted a workshop for Grades 10–12 on 17 September, focusing on Medicine and Engineering. Learners gained insights into university life, admission expectations and future career possibilities. Learners also participated in a Leadership and Sustainability Workshop in association with ISP and the University of Toronto, developing leadership skills while exploring responsible and sustainable decision-making. “Future Pathways has helped me gain a clearer understanding of my interests, strengths and future career goals. It has made me more confident and better prepared for university.”
— Grade 12 Learner
Every learner’s home language is an important part of their identity. At Sancta Maria, we value the many languages that enrich our community. On 14 September, we celebrated Hindi Diwas, recognising the importance of Hindi and its rich linguistic and cultural heritage. Learners engaged with Hindi through language, literature and cultural expression while reflecting on the importance of preserving the languages that connect us to our identities and communities. “भाषा केवल संवाद का माध्यम नहीं, बल्कि हमारी पहचान, संस्कृति और भावनाओं से जुड़ने का एक सशक्त माध्यम है।”
September gave learners opportunities to turn ideas into action through meaningful ISP International Learning Opportunities. Through ISP Change Makers – Sustainable Campus, Middle School learners audited the school kitchen to understand how food, water and energy are used and managed. They are now developing SMART action plans to support more sustainable practices on campus. Our ISP Change Makers – Social Impact fundraising initiative also brought the school community together, with learners turning ideas into positive action with the support of parents.
This month, our learners continued using technology purposefully to support learning and wellbeing. Komodo Wellbeing supported conversations around healthy sleep routines, Formative helped teachers use real-time assessment data, and Exact Path enabled personalised learning pathways for learners in Grades 1, 3 and 6.

Safety and wellbeing remained a key focus throughout September. Student-led wellbeing and safety sessions for Grades 4–12 encouraged learners to reflect on responsible choices, positive behaviour and seeking support when needed.Learners and parents also participated in Bus Evacuation and Fire Safety awareness sessions, while the Intruder (Lockdown) Drill on 16 September helped our community practise essential emergency procedures. Parents were also introduced to key Health & Safety practices, including regular drills, EV3 Trip Risk Assessments and internal safety audits. Online safety remained an important part of learner wellbeing, with a simple message for everyone to remember: STOP • THINK • CHECK Before you post, share or click. Together, these initiatives help create a school community that is informed, prepared and confident.
September brought together learning, achievement, global opportunities and meaningful relationships across our school community. From celebrating our educators and recognising learner achievements to building future-ready skills and strengthening safety and wellbeing, the month reflected the many ways our community learns and grows together. As we move into October, we thank every learner, teacher, parent and staff member who contributes to the Sancta Maria journey. Together, we continue to help every learner grow with confidence, curiosity and purpose.
